The drops contain DHA and erythrulose, two sugar molecules that react with amino acids in the upper layer of the skin. This occurs via the Maillard reaction: a natural browning process that you may also know from browning bread or other foods when heated. On the skin, this happens without sun or UV radiation and gradually creates a naturally looking tan within a few hours.

For the face, we recommend starting with 1–2 drops for a subtle glow. If you want a more intense tan, you can build up to 3–4 drops or even up to 6-7 drops. Always mix the drops first in your palm with your day cream or serum. This way, the tanning drops are distributed more evenly over the skin, which helps to achieve a even tan without spots or streaks te bekomen. The tan develops within a few hours and lasts on average 3 to 7 days visible. By using the drops every 2 to 3 days, you can gradually maintain the colour.

Yes. The colour develops without UV exposure, allowing you to create a sun-kissed look without sunbathing. However, the drops are not a sun protection: when you go outside, a suitable SPF remains important.

Yes. The formula is suitable for very sensitive and delicate skin, including atopic skin. In a patch test on sensitive skin the formula achieved a score of 0, which corresponds to non-irritant. In addition, it supports 7 MW hyaluronic acid the hydration and skin barrier. For exceptionally reactive skin, we recommend testing the product on a small area of skin first.

De Tinge Self Tanning Drops geven kleur zonder UV-straling and can therefore be a cosmetic alternative to sunbathing when you want to avoid UV exposure. A history of skin cancer or ongoing medical treatment does require individual medical advice; discuss the use with your dermatologist or treating physician if in doubt.

Important: the tanning drops do not replace SPF.

Self-tanners based on DHA are generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy. DHA primarily reacts in the upper, dead skin layer and systemic absorption is very limited. DHA has been used in cosmetic self-tanners for decades.

Since products are obviously not specifically tested on pregnant women, an absolute guarantee cannot be given for every individual situation. Our drops are also applied externally and not sprayed, which means there is no risk of inhalation as with self-tan sprays.

No. The formula is fragrance-free and has a neutral scent, without the typical self-tan smell that you notice with many classic self-tanners.

Yes. Mix them with a generous amount of body lotion and apply evenly to the skin. As a guideline, you can use 4–6 drops per arm and 6–8 drops per leg use. Preferably start lower and build up gradually.

Yes, they can be combined with most creams and serums. For the best result, use a neutral moisturiser or serum. Strong AHA/BHA products, high concentrations of vitamin C and powerful retinol products are better not used at the same time. Pure oils are less suitable because DHA is water-soluble and distributes less evenly in them.
